International Game Technology (IGT) anunció que ha establecido un segmento de negocios dedicado a Digital & Betting, que comprende sus actividades de iGaming y apuestas deportivas que anteriormente formaban parte del segmento Global Gaming. Como resultado, a partir del tercer trimestre de 2021, la compañía informará los resultados en tres segmentos comerciales: Global Lottery, Global Gaming y Digital & Betting. El negocio de IGT iLottery seguirá siendo parte del segmento de Global Lottery de la compañía.
Enrico Drago se desempeñará como CEO de Digital & Betting, reportando a Marco Sala, CEO de IGT, con efecto inmediato. Anteriormente, Drago supervisó los negocios de iGaming, iLottery y apuestas deportivas de IGT como vicepresidente senior de PlayDigital.
“IGT ha establecido sólidas posiciones de liderazgo y ha impulsado un crecimiento dinámico en sus negocios de iGaming y apuestas deportivas. Con un crecimiento significativo que se espera que continúe, hemos decidido establecer un segmento comercial dedicado a las apuestas digitales. Estos negocios se han vuelto estratégicamente importantes para IGT, ya que nos brindan la oportunidad de aprovechar el alcance global y las sólidas relaciones con los clientes de nuestro segmento Global Gaming. La nueva estructura nos da más flexibilidad en nuestra cartera de productos y soluciones y permite una mejor apreciación del valor intrínseco de estas actividades”, expresó Sala.
Antes de su llamada de resultados del tercer trimestre de 2021, la compañía espera proporcionar una revisión de sus estados financieros históricos para reflejar la divulgación del nuevo segmento. Además, debido al aumento de las restricciones y la incertidumbre constante que rodea al COVID-19 y su variante Delta, IGT ha decidido celebrar su evento del “Investor Day” de forma virtual y ha movido su fecha al 16 de noviembre.

International Game Technology (IGT) announced that it has established a dedicated Digital & Betting business segment, comprising its iGaming and sports betting activities that were previously part of the Global Gaming segment. As a result, beginning with the third quarter of 2021, the company will report results under three business segments: Global Lottery, Global Gaming and Digital & Betting. The IGT iLottery business will remain part of the company’s Global Lottery segment.
Enrico Drago will serve as CEO, Digital & Betting, reporting to Marco Sala, CEO of IGT, effective immediately. Drago previously had oversight of the IGT iGaming, iLottery and sports betting businesses as Senior Vice President, PlayDigital.
“IGT has established strong leadership positions and driven dynamic growth across its iGaming and sports betting businesses. With significant growth expected to continue, we have decided to establish a dedicated Digital & Betting business segment. These businesses have become strategically important to IGT as they afford us the opportunity to leverage the global reach and strong customer relationships of our Global Gaming segment. The new structure gives us more flexibility in our product and solutions portfolio and enables better appreciation of the intrinsic value of these activities,” said Sala.
In advance of its third quarter 2021 earnings call, the company expects to provide a recast of its historical financials to reflect the new segment disclosure. In addition, due to the increased restrictions and ongoing uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and its Delta variant, IGT has decided to hold its Investor Day event virtually and has moved its date to November 16.
