Pronto, los fanáticos polacos del juego podrán hacer sus apuestas bajo el signo del conocido sol de Merkur.

Merkur Sportwetten GmbH se quedó con la reconocida empresa de apuestas deportivas Totolotek SA, con sede en Varsovia, Polonia. Esta firma pertenecía al grupo griego Intralot. El acuerdo de compra de acciones ya ha concluido y ambas partes están ahora a la espera de la aprobación de la fusión. Con esta adquisición, la compañía alemana entrará en el mercado polaco y así ampliará su presencia en Europa.
Totolotek se fue estableciendo firmemente en el mercado polaco de apuestas deportivas durante más de 27 años y es una de las tres principales empresas de apuestas omnicanal en Polonia. Comercializa su amplia gama de productos de apuestas deportivas a través de comercio fijo en más de 260 puntos de distribución, así como online a través de su sitio web y su aplicación móvil. Totolotek tiene actualmente 560 empleados.
“Las apuestas deportivas son extremadamente populares en Polonia y para muchos fanáticos del fútbol apostar es esencial para vivir la completa experiencia de un partido. La adquisición de Totolotek es una parte importante de nuestra estrategia de crecimiento para abrir el mercado polaco y así ganar otro mercado central en Europa junto con Alemania, Austria, Dinamarca y Bélgica”, explicó Niko Steinkrauß, CEO de Merkur Sportwetten.

Poland: Merkur Sportwetten acquires sports betting provider Totolotek
Soon, Polish gambling fans will be able to place their bets under the sign of the well-known Merkur sun.

Merkur Sportwetten GmbH took over the renowned sports betting company Totolotek SA, based in Warsaw, Poland. This company belonged to the Greek group Intralot. The share purchase agreement has already been concluded and both parties are now awaiting merger clearance. With this acquisition, the German company will enter the Polish market and thus expand its presence in Europe.
Totolotek has been firmly established in the Polish sports betting market for over 27 years and is one of the top three omnichannel betting companies in Poland. It markets its wide range of sports betting products through stationary trade at over 260 distribution points as well as online via its website and mobile app. Totolotek currently has 560 employees.
“Sports betting is extremely popular in Poland and for many football fans betting it’s essential to enjoy the match experience. The acquisition of Totolotek is an important part of our growth strategy to open up the Polish market and thereby gain another core market in Europe alongside Germany, Austria, Denmark and Belgium,” explained Niko Steinkrauß, CEO of Merkur Sportwetten.
