¿Qué llevó a Clarion a explorar ubicaciones alternativas para la ciudad anfitriona?

¿Quién fue responsable de organizar el proceso de licitación?
Contratamos a una consultoría profesional con una amplia experiencia en el área para construir y gestionar todos los aspectos del proceso y evaluar cada oferta.
¿Qué tan detallado fue el proceso?
Fue increíblemente detallado. Incluyó 30 variables, numerosas visitas a lugares, presentaciones de ciudades y negociaciones detalladas. Se examinaron cuestiones como la facilidad y los costos de participación, tanto como expositor como visitante, así como la logística involucrada en términos de transporte y organización del evento. Una parte integral del proceso de selección fue la creación de una Junta Asesora compuesta por marcas internacionales tanto del sector de juegos terrestres como en línea. Fue la Junta quien tomó la decisión final.
¿Consultaron tanto a visitantes como a expositores?
Sí. Realizamos encuestas adicionales entre una muestra de visitantes, así como un análisis cuantitativo en profundidad relacionado con la facilidad y los costos de participar en el evento.
¿Qué ofrece Barcelona?
El lugar cuenta con instalaciones excepcionales y ofrece la oportunidad de hacer crecer tanto ICE como iGB Affiliate. Hemos tenido una gran colaboración por parte de la ciudad y confiamos en poder ofrecer un mayor retorno de la inversión tanto para expositores como para visitantes. ICE e iGB Affiliate serán los únicos eventos importantes que se llevarán a cabo en Barcelona durante el mes de enero, lo que nos permitirá crear una experiencia exclusiva en una de las ciudades más populares y atractivas de Europa, con una infraestructura de hospitalidad increíble.
¿Qué debemos hacer a continuación?
Comunicaremos más detalles más adelante en este verano. A partir de septiembre, emitiremos actualizaciones mensuales sobre la reubicación, que incluirán toda la información que necesitan para asegurarse de tener un gran evento en 2025.

ICE LONDON MOVES TO BARCELONA IN 2025
After an exhaustive and detailed bid process conducted between Barcelona, London, Madrid and Paris, we can confirm that from 2025 ICE and its sister show iGB Affiliate will be held in Barcelona.
The first editions of Clarion Gaming’s two world-class b2b events are to be held in Gran Via, Fira de Barcelona and will take place across 20-22 January 2025.
The 2024 editions will be held at ExCeL London.

What prompted Clarion to explore alternative host city locations?
Everything we do is customer-led, and dating back to 2021 a number of stakeholders asked us to undertake a feasibility study to explore what different cities and venues in Europe could offer. We are very conscious of our responsibility to the industry and of the need to look beyond the ‘here and now’. ICE and iGB Affiliate have grown exponentially and it was important that we took time to evaluate what would meet the future needs of the gaming and ICE community.
Who was responsible for organising the bidding process?
We hired a professional consultancy highly experienced in the space to construct and manage all aspects of the process and to evaluate each bid.
How detailed was the process?
Incredibly so. It comprised 30 variables, numerous venue visits, city presentations and detailed negotiations. It examined issues such as the ease and costs of participating, both as an exhibitor and as a visitor, as well as the logistics involved in terms of transport and event organising. In addition, the process explored longer-term strategic factors impacting the development of the ICE and iGB Affiliate events. It was a highly complex, customer-led undertaking.
Did Clarion make the final decision?
An integral part of the selection process involved the creation of an Advisory Board comprising international brands drawn from both the land-based and online sectors of the industry. It was the Board that made the final selection.
Did you consult with visitors as well as exhibitors?
Yes. We ran additional surveys among a sample of visitors, as well as in-depth quantitative analysis relating to the ease and costs of participating in the event.
What does Barcelona offer?
The venue has outstanding facilities and offers an opportunity to grow both ICE and iGB Affiliate. We’ve had great engagement from the city and we’re confident we will be able to deliver enhanced ROI for both exhibitors and visitors ICE and IGB Affiliate will be the only major events taking place in Barcelona over the January dateline, enabling us to create an exclusive experience in one of Europe’s most popular and attractive cities – one that boasts an incredible hospitality infrastructure.

We will communicate further details later this summer. From September, we will be issuing monthly updates on the relocation which will include all the information you need to ensure you have a great show in 2025.
